
Mary Curry Narayan has been active in home health and cross-cultural nursing practice for over 20 years. During that time, she has served in multiple roles at a Visiting Nurse Association in Northern Virginia. She has provided direct patient care, education, consultation, supervision, quality improvement and project management.
Ms. Narayan has published and presented on a variety of topics related to home care practice, especially in the area of cross-cultural health care. Most recently, she has created a manual to meet the education needs of home care patients of diverse literacy and linguistic needs. She is the author of The Home Health Patient Education Manual.
Active in various community and professional associations, Ms. Narayan currently serves on the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Expert Panel for Home Healthcare Nursing and is an active member of the Transcultural Nursing Society, the Home Healthcare Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and the Virginia Nurses Association. She participates as a board member to various local and regional community service organizations, advocating to meet the needs of culturally diverse populations.
